The secretary general of Jubilee Party and Cabinet Secretary without portfolio Raphael Tuju has declared that the party will not give William Ruto an automatic ticket to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raphael Tuju spoke during an interview and said that there was no Memorandum of Understanding between the party and its deputy party leader that assures him of the ticket.
He sought to clarify that the party had its own guidelines on how it chooses a candidate and they will implement those guidelines in choosing the party’s candidate when Uhuru Kenyatta retires in 2022.
Raphael Tuju’s views come after Jubilee Party’s chairman David Murathe echoed the same sentiments. He said William Ruto will not run in 2022 and has urged him to retire with Uhuru Kenyatta.
The future of deputy president in Jubilee Party continues to be bleak at the party continues to make it known that they will not stick to the plans that were made before the general elections of 2013.
